Obituary of Andrea Slater

Andrea Slater (Eckl) passed away from cancer on August 18, 2014. She was born on Feb 13, 1970 in Barrington, IL to Robert & Linda Eckl. She was the beloved wife of Brad Slater, loving mother of Jake and Lily Slater, and the dear sister of Robert Eckl, Jr, Susan Rosen-Kinney, and Catherine Wenninger. She was also devoted aunt to many nieces and nephews. Andrea graduated from Kenyon College, with a junior year abroad at Exeter, where she honed her love of literature. Andrea grew up in Barrington and spent her adult years hopping from Libertyville IL to Austin TX to Heidelberg, Germany to Ascot, England. She has traveled the world and has had a positive impact on the lives of many. She will be remembered for her caring spirit and beautiful smile, but most of all for her amazing love and dedication to her family. She will be missed by many. Visitation will be Saturday, August 23, 2014 from 1:00-4:00PM at the McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville, IL 60048. A short service will be held at the funeral home at 3:00 PM.
