Mary Kay, 101, of Grayslake, passed away January 28, 2015. Mary was born in Poland, grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and moved to Illinois in 1977. She continued working after coming to Illinois and retired at age 98. Mary was a co-founder of the original Vernon Hills Seniors Organization and served as President for over 10 years. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Clemens in 1975. She is survived by her daughter Linda; her nephews, their wives and families Wes (Jan) Gaile, Susan Clarke (the late Gary Gaile), Jim (Jane) Grendell, Tim (Diane) Grendell as well as many grand nieces and nephews Jeff Gaile; Mary, Patricia and Michael Grendell; Kate (Dennis) Beyer, Jamie Grendell, Patrick and Violet Beyer and many friends. Visitation will be Friday Jan 30th from 4 – 8 pm at McMurrough Funeral Chapel, 101 Park Place (Rt. 176, 1 Blk East of Milwaukee Ave) Libertyville. Funeral Mass will be Saturday Jan 31st at 1 pm at St. Mary of Vernon Catholic Church, Indian Creek, IL. Private interment will be at a later date.
